‘Injectable moisturiser’, ‘liquid facelift’, ‘skincare injections’… there are lots of simplified terms to describe Profhilo. This groundbreaking product is in fact classified as a ‘bio-remodelling agent’ and has some fabulous long term benefits for you skin.
We know that within 4 weeks of treatment, skin is more hydrated, firmer, smoother and plumper. However, the way it does that is far more complicated.
Profhilo is a complex of very pure, multiple weight Hyaluronic Acid molecules which, when injected, trigger lots of changes to improve cellular functions in the skin. It promotes new skin cell production and repairs which can help damage the cells that cause skin problems like pigmentation and sun damage. It also acts as a free radical scavenger, getting rid of cells which actively cause damage and, because of its water-binding capacity, it improves nutrient exchange between vessels and the dermis.
The procedure is quick and only mildly uncomfortable. I’ll inject your mid and lower face with a very fine needle in 10 different places. Downtime is minimal with unnoticeable red bumps appearing within a few minutes while aftercare is surprisingly simple.
To get the biggest impact it’s best to have 2 treatments 4 weeks apart and repeat the course every 6 to 8 months. Remember, this isn’t like getting fillers of Botox where you see an almost immediate result.
